Kalsum – Heart Patient

Kalsum is an eleven (11) years old girl and a diagnosed case of ASD secundum with mild pulmonary stenosis. Her father approached ISAR Welfare Foundation for help. She was advised to have open heart surgery for closure of her ASD in 2016, but the poor father was not able to manage a treatment for his daughter.

Kalsum is not as healthy and active as compared to other children of her age. She weigh below average and have difficulty while eating. An early ASD closure will preserve heart structure and function and will improve a child’s growth and quality of life and delay in surgery results in complications.

She belongs to a very poor family in Goth Ghulam Mohammad Khoso, Tehsil Meher, District Dadu, Sindh Pakistan. Her father Liaqat Ali is a farmer and he is a poor farm tenant of a landlord. He can’t afford charges and the cost involved in this surgery.
